Is Notion really free?

For personal use, yes — the free plan has no time limit. Teams pay per member for collaboration features.

What does Notion AI cost?

AI has been packaged differently over time (add-on vs. bundled by plan). Treat the official pricing page as the source of truth.

Can Notion replace a project-management tool?

For small teams, often yes. For dependency-heavy delivery work, most teams pair it with a dedicated PM tool like ClickUp.

Do startups get discounts?

Notion has run startup programs with credits through accelerators and partners — eligibility rules apply on the official site.

Notion Review: Pricing, Pros & Cons

Name: Notion
Brand: Notion
Availability: InStock

The verdict

Still the best single tool for a team's docs-plus-lightweight-projects layer, with a free plan generous enough for personal use forever. It gets slower and less opinionated at scale — big teams need discipline (or a dedicated PM tool) to keep it tidy.

A look at Notion

Best for

Team wikis, internal docs, and flexible databases — the connective tissue between your tools.

Not for

You need hard project-management structure (dependencies, workload) or blazing performance on huge workspaces.

THE TRADE-OFFS

Pros & cons

One tool replaces a wiki, a doc editor, and a light project tracker.
The free plan is genuinely usable long-term for individuals.
Databases with relations are the most approachable no-code data modelling in any mainstream tool.
AI features work on your own content, which is where workspace AI is actually useful.

Large workspaces get slow and messy without strong conventions.
Offline support remains weak for a tool this central to daily work.
AI is an additional cost consideration on team plans.
